The session proposes a dialogue on digital art and the multiple extensions of net art, featuring artists Beatriz Albuquerque, Miguel Carvalhais, Luísa Ribas, and poet Rui Torres, along with Carolina Pita Negrão, Director of the MEO Foundation, moderated by Sofia Ponte. The aim is to celebrate how the Internet has shaped the creative process, artistic production, and art consumption in the contemporary world, while simultaneously reflecting on the challenges posed by digital art in the fields of curating, exhibiting, collecting, and conservation.
The book was developed in connection with the exhibition Net Arte no Triângulo das Bermudas: Contributo para uma reflexão sobre a arte e Internet em Portugal, presented between September 7th and November 2nd, 2025 at CAAA - Centro para os Assuntos da Arte e da Arquitetura. Interested in mapping and systematizing artistic movements related to the Internet in Portugal since the stabilization of the internet in the country in 1995, the exhibition brings together fourteen artistic projects from the areas of cyberpoetry, digital radio, visual arts, programming, generative art, web design, performance, digital games, and electronic music. This publication includes the artistic projects of Beatriz Albuquerque, Daniel Pinheiro and Annie Abrahams, Pizzbuin, Rui Torres, Susana Mendes Silva, wr3ad1ng d1g1t5, Luísa Ribas and João Cruz, Mário Cameira, Rudolfo Quintas, Alice dos Reis, Miguel Carvalhais, Pedro Tudela and Rodrigo Carvalho, Joana Chicau and Luís Fernandes. The book also includes the essays Proposta para uma Cronologia - Panorama da Net Arte em Portugal (Proposal for a Chronology - Panorama of Net Art in Portugal), de Sofia Ponte, e Redes de Cuidado (Networks of Care), by Annet Dekker, translated into Portuguese for the first time by José Roseira.
