In its 2025 edition, the LAW remains true to its mission, guaranteeing free entry to all spaces and activities in order to promote democratic access to art and direct engagement between artists and the general public.
This edition includes more than 250 national and international artists, 50 spaces, and 80 free events, including exhibitions, guided tours, talks, performances, concerts, open studios, and an auction. For the first time, spaces such as the Arpad Szenes – Vieira da Silva Foundation, MACAM – Armando Martins Museum of Contemporary Art, and the PLMJ Foundation are participating in LAW, fostering dialogue between the institutional fabric and the most emerging contemporary artistic practices.
This year's program highlights emerging spaces alongside established institutions and proposes curatorial itineraries defined by artists, curators, and collectors, offering new perspectives on Lisbon's art scene and encouraging the public to explore the city through art. Inclusion is also a priority this year: public guided tours will include interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language (LGP).
Among the extensive program of LAW, highlights include exhibitions by Zineb Sedira at CAM – Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian, Cerith Wyn Evans at MAAT, Heidi Bucher at Jahn und Jahn, Saodat Ismailova at Kunsthalle Lissabon, Rui Chafes at Galeria Filomena Soares, and Nuno Nunes-Ferreira at Balcony Contemporary Art Gallery.
The complete program can be found on the initiative's website.
