BIOGRAPHY
Inês Mendes Leal (b. 1997) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Lisbon, with Swiss, French, and Portuguese roots. Her artistic practice focuses on the action that air exerts on things, exploring ways to recreate this dynamic presence, which occurs outdoors, in interior/exhibition spaces. This exploration is not limited to this movement, but extends to the relentless search for a possible image of what is, by nature, a non-image. Her entire practice is permeated by an attraction to emptiness—a desire to immerse herself in what is not directly offered to us—a desire to reveal, feel, and integrate the invisible into the visible.
