Together with the call for young artists’ art production, “la Caixa” has other scholarships, this time targeting young curators.

In this context, the scholarship seeks to establish the basis for the professionalization of this area. Three different projects – corresponding to three scholarships – will be selected for subsequent completion at the CaixaForum Barcelona and the curators will have to work the extensive contemporary art collections of the “la Caixa” Foundation and of the Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona (MACBA), with artists like Joseph Beuys, Antoni Tàpies, Gerhard Richter, Bruce Nauman, or Juan Muñoz.

According to the communication notice, “the program (…) is for art curators, less than 40 years old, Portuguese or Spanish, or living in either country, who have previously worked as curators of at least three exhibitions” and judges will be looking mainly for innovation, both in what concerns the curatorial text and its concept, and the creative approach to the layout of the works.
