From 21 to 24 April, Sala Mário Viegas at Teatro São Luiz will host Contrafogos, a programme of residencies for creating and performing music using Ambisonics three-dimensional immersive sound technology.

Developed under the theme of Transfiguration, this project aims to offer the public a unique sensory experience that deconstructs the expectations of a concert or exhibition. During the programme, a series of pieces commissioned from national artists in the fields of electronic, jazz and psychedelic music will be presented in an installation context, including: Joana da Conceição, Nídia, Sei Miguel and Sonic Boom. The space’s scenic lighting is the result of work by Gabriela Clavería and Ana Luísa Novais, developed as part of matéria leve, a research and training project in scenic lighting coordinated by Leticia Skrycky.

This initiative is a co-production of Filho Único – Associação Cultural with the São Luiz Theatre and Lisboa Incomum, with the support of the Portuguese Republic – Ministry of Culture / DGArtes.

Admission to the show is free, subject to capacity. Tickets can be collected from the Theatre Box Office (maximum 2 tickets per person). Find more information and book your tickets here.
