The exhibition Lua Cão [Moondog] by the artists Alexandre Estrela e João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva ends next 15 July and represents a rather interesting model of exhibiting not only because of its location – an old, dusty warehouse – but also because of the displays used to ventilate the concept.

The immersive ambience drives us through what appears to be a cosmogony about to be written. It seems like we’re at the very beginning of the creation of a myth, the inscription of a cosmic, supernatural event. There’s lights shining through, fantastic reflections, thousand suns on loop, hypnotizing and hypnotized eyes, all in a dark grotto, from the beginning of Creation. In fact, the text from the exhibit, by the curator Natxo Checa, remembers the mystic component of the artistic creation, full of visions, fears, anxieties, doubts and uncertainty that unite themselves in the ever-expanding signs and significations from the artistic production.

Lua Cão, by the artists Alexandre Estrela e João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva, is a production from Galeria Zé dos Bois, was curated by Natxo Checa, and is available at the Calçada do Tijolo, 41A, 1200-167, Lisbon. From Wednesday to Saturday, from 18-22h.
