Begun in January 2025, Chain Reaction has hosted meetings in various formats—dinners, residencies, workshops, and public conversations—always focused on critical, inclusive, and community-based artistic practices.
This time, Chain Reaction proposes a dynamic similar to a game. Participants will be divided into four groups and invited to circulate among several discussion tables, where artists and professionals from the field will be seated. Confirmed guests include Ana Cardoso, Catarina Ricciardi, David Silva Revés, Hugo de Almeida Pinto, José Oliveira, João Sarmento, Maja Escher and Nicolai Sarbib.
At each table, the group will have approximately 15 minutes to share personal experiences and answer questions about galleries, applications, funding, and other sustainability strategies. The goal is, above all, to foster an informal environment open to discussion, to demystify the art system, and to create a support network among artists.
Supported by DGartes - República Portuguesa, the event is free, with prior registration required, and is limited to 20 participants. The primary language will be Portuguese, but the discussion will also be open to English speakers. You can register and find more information here.
