Since its creation in 1994, Artissima has established itself as a benchmark event on the global contemporary art scene, combining a strong international market with a commitment to artistic experimentation and research.
In 2025, the fair will bring together 176 galleries from around the world, with 62 monographic projects, distributed across four main sections—Main Section, Monologue/Dialogue, New Entries, and Art Spaces & Editions—as well as three curated sections: Present Future, Back to the Future, and Disegni.
The Main Section brings together some of the most renowned galleries on the international scene, including 1/9UNOSUNOVE (Rome), 193 GALLERY (Paris, Venice, Saint-Tropez), CONTINUA (Gimignano, Beijing, Les Moulins, Havana, Rome, São Paulo, Paris), and MONITOR (Rome, Lisbon, Pereto). Monologue/Dialogue is a platform dedicated to experimental galleries, which present monographic proposals or dialogues between two artists. This section includes the Portuguese galleries FOCO and GALERIA 111.
The New Entries section is dedicated to young galleries (under five years old), offering an introduction to new languages and perspectives on the global contemporary art scene. Meanwhile, Art Spaces & Editions focuses on galleries and non-profit spaces, highlighting limited editions, prints, and multiples by contemporary artists.~
In addition, Artissima also has three curated sections. Present Future, curated by Léon Kruijswijk and Joel Valabrega, presents eleven projects by emerging artists under 40. Curated by Jacopo Crivelli Visconti and Heike Munder, the Back to the Future section offers a retrospective of the pioneers of contemporary art, with monographic exhibitions by artists who explored new forms of communication and experimentation between the 1940s and 1990s. Disegni, the only section dedicated to drawing at Italian art fairs, curated by Irina Zucca Alessandrelli, emphasizes the centrality and autonomy of work on paper, offering a unique perspective on the artists' creative process.
Alongside the booths of participating galleries, Artissima's program includes a series of special projects, organized in collaboration with some of the city's leading cultural institutions, which aim to integrate the fair into Turin's cultural ecosystem.
Artissima 2025 will continue the awards program, organized in collaboration with partners, foundations, and institutions. The Artissima awards are presented to participating artists and galleries and will be presented during the fair by a specially appointed international jury. With the support of the Fondazione Arte CRT, the fair also promotes an acquisition fund to benefit the GAM collections – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna di Torino and Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, which this year was increased to €300,000.
