Doors to Heaven sets Andree Martis in search of the cosmos’ generated sounds and the way these, captured by industry and space experiences, influence our bodies – a highly immersive and intimate proposal.

Doors to Heaven sets Andree Martis in search of the cosmos’ generated sounds and the way these, captured by industry and space experiences, influence our bodies – a highly immersive and intimate proposal.

The installation at Artes Porto stimulates a holistic, almost regenerative approach, inviting viewers to interact and meditate. Sound and light vibrate in this tiny space capsule, stimulating senses and fostering an astral connection with planets, satellites, dust and wandering orbits.

Doors to Heaven is a thorough attempt to bring together technique and aesthetics, technology and art, hiding the algorithmic programming in an audio-visual concept that goes beyond that. After all, this nirvanic transcendence is what Martis tries to instil in those who experience the installation. The work reflects the initial parameters of the stars’ invisible alignment and the viewers’ active and passive feedback.

Door to Heaven can be visited until May 27, at Artes Porto – a project by Luisa Mota, managed by Carlos Pinto.
