Demonstra is an online platform that promotes debate, inclusion and dissemination of the artistic output of people with disabilities, developing simultaneously a portfolio of works based on “the discussion of the non-normative body in contemporary times”, and sharing knowledge in several artistic expressions.

This first edition has activities arising from the online artistic residence Poéticas Informes, curated by Isabel Portella and Daniel Moraes, both physically disabled and with extensive research in these fields.

Through an Open Call, the curators gathered artists from Portuguese-speaking countries, such as Jeff Barbato, Guto Oca, João Paulo Racy, Juca Fiis, Lua Cavalante and Nara Rosetto, who have actively contributed to the transformation of cultural and poetic accessibility of disabled bodies in the arts.

On May 21, Demonstra will hold a seminar and inaugurate the exhibition (DE)MONSTRA, presenting the works developed during the artistic residence, in online format.
