“The exhibition Ontem já era tarde (Yesterday was already late), by Vítor Serrano, on display downstairs, announces this diagnosis in its title: the unease experienced during the hiatus in artistic practice and, now, its return. A return that is laden with the awareness of the interruption, as if each work carried the shadow of that suspended time. The artist constructs the exhibition from everyday elements — shoes, plates, paper towels, a table — organising a constellation of symbols that reflect on pause, the accumulation of time and the desire to walk.”
